Pavana is the Executive Director and founder of The RQ Institute. Her career spans over 3 decades, across 7 industries, in both the private and public sectors within top leading SA and global brands. These include but are not limited to Discovery Group, SAB Miller, Standard Bank, Vodacom Group, Deloitte and Woolworths Holdings Limited - predominantly in risk management and compliance at an executive level. She has further honed her risk, governance and regulatory industry-wide expertise at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), South African Reserve Bank (SARB) as well as IRMSA. Her expertise is underpinned by a Bachelor of Science Statistics degree, MBA (Edinburgh University) and CRM Prof (IRMSA) designation and she is a certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/IT) and ISO42001 Artificial Intelligence (AI) Senior Lead Implementor. She is a member of IRMSA and IODSA.
This chapter in Pavana’s career is about “giving back and serving” the risk fraternity and accelerating women’s progress, through her involvement with IRMSA and scaling her impact through RQI which has always been a personal goal. Previously an Executive Committee member of IRMSA, she currently serves on the Western Cape Exco and continues to be involved in IRMSA’s initiatives, publications and conferences and mentor risk professionals and women leaders.
